Alertness Support in Control Rooms

Control-room work is safety-critical. EyeJolt can never replace approved fatigue systems, staffing, alarms, or operating procedures, but may serve as a personal supplementary alert where policy permits.

Why fading happens

Sleep pressure, circadian timing, passive tasks, long sessions, and an under-stimulating environment can combine. An alert may reveal the problem, but it does not remove the cause.

Practical steps

  • Use only with employer approval.
  • Follow formal fatigue risk controls.
  • Report repeated lapses immediately.
  • Never treat a consumer app as certification of fitness for duty.

Where EyeJolt fits

Start a stationary session with your face visible, choose a suitable alert rotation, and use repeated alarms as a clear signal to stop and recover.

Limits

EyeJolt may miss fatigue and may false-alert. It is not a medical device, fitness-for-duty system, or replacement for sleep, supervision, staffing, or approved safety controls.
