EyeJolt Accuracy and Limitations

EyeJolt can respond to visible eye closure, but it may miss fatigue and may produce false alerts. Understand the factors before relying on it.

It cannot diagnose microsleep

A camera-visible closure is not a clinical diagnosis, and open-eye attention lapses may not be visible to the app.

Environment affects the signal

Poor light, backlighting, camera angle, distance, face obstruction, sunglasses, and device movement can reduce reliability.

Platforms differ

iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows use different camera and face-processing stacks. Behaviour and hardware support are not identical.

Alarms have limits

Browser or operating-system audio settings, disconnected speakers, headphones, focus modes, and hardware volume can affect whether an alert is heard.
