Eye Closure Detection: How EyeJolt Watches for Fading

EyeJolt estimates eye openness from a live camera signal and looks for sustained closure rather than treating every blink as drowsiness.

Signal, not diagnosis

Eye openness is one observable signal. A closed-eye event is not automatically a microsleep, and a microsleep can occur with eyes appearing open.

Rolling patterns

EyeJolt combines signal changes over time and, where available, head-position information. Sensitivity changes how readily the state machine escalates.

Local processing

The camera is used as a live sensor. Frames are not recorded, stored, or uploaded.

Conditions matter

Lighting, camera angle, eyewear, facial visibility, hardware, and rapid movement can alter the quality of the estimate.
